Limited study places available in the Main Building
There are a limited number of study places available in the VU Main Building for students who, for whatever reason, are unable to study from home.
The study areas in the Medical Library and on the 1st floor of the VU Main Building are closed.
Consulting Digital Collections from home
VU and VUmc students and employees may consult all VU licenced e-journals, e-books, online articles and databases from home. Read here how to get access from home.
Books can be borrowed from our collection by first making a reservation via LibSearch. As soon as a book becomes available, you will receive an email informing you that the book is ready for pick up during opening hours from the Information Desk. Note: emails may inadvertently be sent to your Spam Box!
If, for whatever reason, you are unable to visit the VU, you can contact the VU Library to have your books delivered.
Consulting Special Collections
Materials from our Special Collections and Archives can be consulted by appointment only. Make an appointment through firstname.lastname@example.org or call 020 598 5200.
Students need to ensure that their student card has been activated for library use.
Other University Library members
All other University Library members (i.e.: members who are not students or employees) can still order and pick up books. However there are currently no consultation rooms available. We are also unable at this time to register new University Library members.
