While the negotiations are ongoing, OUP can charge researchers a fee for publishing open access articles, the so-called article processing charche (APC). To prevent this APC from being passed on, the University Library strongly advises VU researchers to register accepted articles in OUP journals for the subscription model (closed access). As soon as the new agreement with OUP is signed, the eligible publications will be made public retroactively (open access).
If you have any questions or want to know more about open access publishing, please contact the VU Open Access Team. We are happy to help you.
